Cannavaro is defenders leader in Juventus and Italy, and Italy's captain. He led his team in winning this WC. His break in Germany's attack when Italy scores its 2nd goal resumes perfectly his performance in the tournament.
I guess he will be awarded with Golden Ball from FIFA, and I think he really deserves this.
Thuram is a champion in football and in his real life too. His speakings are always meaningful, I well remember the words he spent when Paris suburbs riot was going on, and his position about racism in football (and life...). Never heard a football player so far from the usual sport bubble-speaking. I've found only a link, but he deserve a little search on the web...

Are you kidding? Thuram panicked on more than one occasion, which resulted in corner kicks, or he needed help from other defenders. He's an excellent player, but Cannavaro was always able to sort out difficult situations on his own.

Fabio Cannavaro is an awesome defender and captain. He is the best I have seen in a very long time. He's never afraid to challenge for the ball and he never gives up!
