I love Zidane and have a great deal of respect for him but I am in agreeance with j_smith_7 on this one. I really would like in time to hear the reason for the behaviour from his mouth. What he did was wrong. No dispute there. However I do think IF it is proven that there indeed was a racially provocated remark that crossed the line, Materazzi should also be disciplined by FIFA. As I said it is not condoned by me but a friend of mine made a point today in relation to his "thuggery" which was that is was no worse than De Rossi who indiscretion is now forgotten as he is celebrated as a hero. That comment got me thinking!

Apparently he is a sportsman without sportsmanship.
He certainly behaved like a hooligan.
