Education has already brought about real, and significant, changes in society. Not just in the US, but around the world.
Are there problems with our educational system? Sure, after all nothing is perfect. We could go a long way to fixing the educational system here in the US, if we would eliminate teacher's unions.
Values should be taught by parents, although I admit few are up to the task, and most won't take the responsibility.

i think yes...it has the power 2 bring changes in the society. it has the power 2 change ppls views for the betterment of the society.
A few yrs ago..a well educated person had no worth, but today times hav changed nd a well educated person is not being let down. Education brings about a different way of looking at things . But the most important factor is still the will 2 bring a gud change in society.

Education brings real change to the society.
if you are not getting eduction the society will be weak. and if u get good education your society will be the best.
It is not that u send your ward to dick and harry for education and ur responsibility is over if is ur responsibility that ur ward should not got in the hand of dick and harry make proper inquiries then send. and if the things are for u - a mature person- then how can u go for education to a dick/harry. make proper assessments and choose the best.
cheers

REAL education can bring REAL change in society.
Now what is REAL education ? Controversial Question. Difficult to answer.
All people working under Osama Bin Laden is so called educated. They also want to bring a change in the world ! Will that be a REAL change !!?? Certainly not.
I have seen many Graduate Electrical Engineer from different countries do not know how to connect wire to a plug top. Is this REAL education !! I have my doubts.
I have seen a Religious leader after completing his sermon gone to visit pubs and brothels. Is that REAL education !! May Jesus help them.
REAL EDUCATION CAN CERTAINLY BRING CHANGE.

what is needed is reality in education....too many people are being encouraged to go to university to study useless courses then become upset when they cannot get a job as they do not have suitable qualifications or experience.
Much better to have taken on a skilled trade and make a proper contribution to society.

I agree with you.The value of education has gone down.It doesn't teach the morals and values of life.Today's education cannot prepare the children for anything they face in the real life.

undoubtedly it will. It changes the whole mindset. From a savage to the cultivated one man has become because of this. It can bring a lot of change if it is applied in constructive activities. But if put on the path of destruction it may not help.

Let's do an experiment. Let's shut down all education for about 20 years and see what happens. Then ask your question again.
