You are misunderstanding something... You did *not* have normal periods for 6 months while on the Mirena. You did not, in fact, have *any* periods. Bleeding while using hormonal birth control is not a period.

So, therefore, *not* bleeding is also not abnormal. But, yes, it *could* mean you're pregnant. Take a pregnancy test, and if it comes back negative, see your doctor. You could have a tubal pregnancy (although it is not likely with a Mirena, since the hormones usually prevent you from ovulating). And, if this is normal for you, it is *not* because of the device itself; it is because of the hormones it is treated with.

You need to find out if this is a common side effect with the coil. I know most contraceptives mess around with your body clock. Saying that no contraceptive is 100% safe so get a test to be sure

My mum got pregnant with my younger brother whenever she had the coil... I'd do a pregnancy test just to make sure (The youngest in our house was 14 whenever this "accident" happened, so she really wasn't planning on having any more children. I love my wee brother to bits though :). )

Probably should call the doctor that fitted you for whatever that device is. Pregnancy test wouldn't hurt.

Just to make sure have a test. It will easy your mind. Only that will anyway.

It can be you are pregnant but that chance is very, very small.
