NO , sorry for the caps, but violence, is definately NOT needed in todays world. Unfortunately though , Violence goes back to the beginning, where you had to be strong to survive. And people these days still carry on that belief. As has been shown now on many occasions, Violence does not cure anything, It is a quick alternative to a long problem.

A need in so broad a context is contingent on the viability and logic of the alternatives to the same desired end, and even the desired end might be contestible for its desiribility based in self interest vs. larger interest. The necessity of a recourse to violence as it is judged before the fact to the situations to which it is applied is unknowable. It's not as if violence is water, the need for which is virtually, if not fully, unquestioned. Violence might be the proper action at a given time, thus necessity based on a standard of social development becomes moot.

It is MADE necessary by film-makers. Disney's cartoon "Mulan" is based on a Chinese ancient poem written by an anonymous writer in about the 3rd century telling the tragedies of war. Unfortunately, Disney has produced a movie which glorifies Mulan as a sword-wielding girl with no expertise apart from swordsplay & horsemanship. In Jacky Chan's films, guys in Hollywood perpetually use flying kicks to resolve disputes.

I am not in agree with violence at all, but I ask you a question and invite you to think about it, " what will you do in defending your family against a very bad tempered man? " . You see when violence will be completely omitted from our life that every one start proving itself and omit it from his life.
