I am an Indian American as in my parents are from India. For about 3 years I been traveling to Mexico and interacting with Mexican Americans both previous generations and the first generation. I like Mexico, it s food, women, culture and geography - no real complaints.
Mexicans in Mexico are taught at every level that America has wronged them and they are also taught that Capitalism is bad. Lets take the second item first. Mexicans are taught that capitalism is an American concept and it exploits workers etc. Typical marxist dialectic. What makes Mexico situation particularly interesting is it is the people in power and the rich families in Mexico that feed this garbage to preserve status quo. Its quite stunning how much influence the corrupt rich in Mexico rely on bashing capitalism and free markets. In fact, most Mexicans that are educated at top American universities and go back bad mouth America as a way to preserve their own status quo.
Going back to the issue of education. Mexican education is pretty ghetto, they have no standards, they don t know truth from fiction. Its as if the Cubans wrote the Mexican text books and this is what the teacher types tell the poor. Its really sad. Mexican education is a self-fulfilling prophecy of the virtues of socialism and how bad America is. Neither does much to improve education for the kids. By high school Mexican kids are brainwashed. Mexico had wars with many nations but they hold wars with America as a chip on their shoulders. Frankly, they would rather get mad at you than here that its ancient history and we should move on.
My sincere conclusion America bashing is a vital tool for Mexican corruption and the rich to survive. You never experience such a thing in China, India, Africa or even Latin America.
Yet most poor Mexicans want to come to US but be aware they are angry at America! Hope they will change for their own good.

Of course not. It's VERY simple. Mexican Americans don't hate Mexicans of Mexican nationality, although there might be a fear over what's going on with stuff like the war with drug dealers and the corrupt government, or feelings of being less assimilated. If your parents were born in Mexico, then you can get dual citizenship and that's the end of discussion on how you can get it, but some argue that if something happens to you over there, the U.S. government might not respond for you. In my opinion I think it is hypocritical for someone like them to say "...make ALL Mexico proud." When there's a war out there. Even Mexican people don't feel like celebrating this bicentennial of their Independence because they feel like it's not a real big deal compared to what's really happening in Mexico. Although, I do believe that there are different ways of being proud, not just being born over there and having different nationalities, but like having the beauty inside in their heritage and being able to share their culture.

The human heart has a certain amount of Xenophobia, racism, and tendency to look for demagoguery from our leaders. Poverty can bring this out, maginify it, and it happens all over the world, not just in America.
I remember, as a teenager and young adult, wonder why in the heck are companies allowed to hire foreign workers, when I can t even get (or keep) a job.
I have had several Mexican people pick a fight with me. The earliest was in High School, when I was just walking down a hallway, and another student, from Mexico, wanted to fight with me, just because I appear to be of European decent. Once a young kid, from Mexico, flipped me off and said "#@$@# you white boy", when I waved to him and their sister as they left a friends apartment. I quickly responded with "Peace brother", and the sister smiled and waved back. It was very telling, often racism is promoted by adults, but it also seems to be a trait that the young mind dabbles in, when we are down. I don t what happened to them, I hope they are okay.
Communism is nothing but demagoguery, and it can t really help human progress speed up. Cuba, as we all know, is stuck in 1950 s time warp.
But, most Mexicans I have encountered have been extraordinarily good people. And everyone must realize that it is up to our communities to reach out to the young and help them understand people who are different in some esoteric way, are deserving of our common courtesy and an open mind.

Mexicans aren't "hurting" the United States economy, they are helping. There would be a lot of things missing here if there were no legal/illegal Mexicans here.

Ronnie,
I think your question is somewhat vague.
First and foremost let’s agree that both an “American” or a “Mexican” can be English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani or Afghan;
An American may also be a Comanche, Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as Native Americans. A Mexican can be an Apache, Yuma, Yaqui, Otomi, Aztec, Purepecha, Totonaca, Mayan, or any member of many other Native Tribes of Mexico who were the first lawful or “Legal" owners of this continent before our ancestors ever sailed in. Before there was live fire or borders.
An American just like a Mexican is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim.
In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan. The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses.
Americans welcome the best of everything...the best products, the best books, the best music, the best food, the best services. But they also welcome the least.
The national symbol of America, The Statue of Liberty, welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed. These in fact are the people who built America.
Some of them were working in the Twin Towers the morning of September 11, 2001 earning a better life for their families. It's been told that the World Trade Center victims were from at least 30 different countries, cultures, and first languages, including those that aided and abetted the terrorists. So where exactly do you see this hate? Isn’t there any hate between siblings, spouses, or other family members? Or neighbors? Or how about members of the same congregations or fellowships?

Look not all Mexicans are like this. And as far as our economy goes, Do you have any idea how many illegals work and live here and pay taxes that unlike Americans they will never get refunded on. Most of the jobs they do an U.S citizen would not even dream of doing. You know maybe the Indians should have killed us before we destroyed there country. Isn't that who it really belongs to the Indians. And far as sending money to Mexico. Apparently you have no idea how many of there families send money here.
I am VERY saddened to see my own kind being haters. Hating for things they have no idea about.

I dont like the fact they were saying Osama Osama.. mexicans are people with too much ******* pride.
