I believe that ISLAM is a Religion and not a Race as people from all countries & ethnicity's can join any religious cult they like.

In its beginnings one might have considered that the only people in Islam were Caucasians,however as you've said it is today a Religion.
There are 3 scientifically classed races mongoloid,Caucasoid,negroid.
