Hard to say, but possibly. He would have been helpful in the shoot outs!

Absolutely. He's the best penalty shooter France has. He's also the captain of the French side, and his idiotic tantrum brought down the morale for the whole team.
I LOVED how the American commentators spent the entire World Cup kissing Zidane's behind, and then this. HA!

No. One red card` means one man less. The Blues had new blood with Wiltord replacing Henry. It was just bad luck he didn't score the way he did in the 1998 final that gave France the cup.

Zidane was a good player for France & he made a mistake by doing such a cheap act.....Zidane can easily goal it for his team ....which the others didn't....& he also lost his good image.which he carried throughout the tournament.....France team just paid for his mistake...poor team....whom where u supporting yesterday for? do tell me......bye

I think by doing what de did he just disappointed his entire team and they just couldn't really believe what happened. I think the entire nation was pretty shocked by his act.
But then again Italy is strong and they played great...

i said "yes", as a captain he should be the last person going down like that, once his was present gone, the team lost itz core, even he stay in like he was suppose to, it will mean alot mentally to the French.

i think it affected hell lot when he was out (though he deserved that red card). henry should be in too. if they were in, i think the penalty would go on and on. probably they could have won.

i think it did cause the players were all tired and the fact that one of your mates the strongest one actually had been told out I am afraid it panicked them and reduced their courage.
