Italia is the best* notice the asterisk. I guess they deserved it but they didn't really outshine anyone. They played good against the czech republic and in two minutes against germany for a total of 92 minutes. Even though Italia won the cup, they're not a great champion. A good example of a great champ is brasil in '02. They were awesome.

In this FIFA world cup a lot of teams played well. famous stars could not prove themselves. and as Italy won final match so its best.
