No i don't think so.
What areas are you looking at? While it is certain that people are far more advanced in using technology than before, it does not make a more intelligent person or society. Technology has made more information available to a broader audience, however many people use the technology for entertainment rather than education.
Furthermore there is a vast amount of misinformation and half truth. People are not as willing to research into areas of interest in depth and seldom use resources to obtain various opinions or different view points. We tend now to pick the information that matches our preconceived notions and spend less time synthesizing input. Basic skills are not mastered, the focus tends to be on making people comfortable with terms and concepts rather than the mastery of the skills behind them. Education should be solid and make a springboard from which one can achieve great things. I do not see this as much. Now I tend to see a familiarization with knowledge that relies on the ability to access information and technology as needed. The difference is important in many ways. It doesn't matter what area you are speaking about, math. science, history, arts, the mastery of skills for an individual leads to a more intelligent, creative and reliable society and allows technology to be used to a fuller potential. I do not believe that within a decade you will see a "smarter" generation or society as a whole. In fact one may find that the level of education for those obtaining it in the 1940 and 1950's would supercede an equivalant year today in terms of scope and mastery across the curriculum.

well here's the thing in 2012 there's supposed to be a major spiritual shift in the world, there are many texts on this, including the fact that the Mayan ca lander (one of the most accurate ever) ends in 2012.people who work with universal energy are already felling tha affects. chaos will increase leading up to this as some don't want humanity to evolve beyond barbarism. even the weather is changing as mother earth prepares for the cleansing. so the smarter may not be academically but smarter living in general

I believe that they will be smarter in 2015. A recent study has shown that children in the present times are more intelligent as compared to the earlier times. They figured this is so because we have more access to educational materials available for us. I believe that people will be more intelligent in 2015 because I am sure that more and more information shall be accessible to them by then.

At least they have to be, otherwise they will not survive as the mankind might be facing a great problem, the lack of fresh waters supply. Secondly, we are too many living too close to each other, which could support illnesses from viruses and a bacterial grow. Third, our food is already poisoned by antibiotics to preserve the food but if this kills the bacteria, it will also kill the cells in our body too. We will be smarter

no they will be much more smarter, but it also depends on the parents.
look at today's kids, they know many many things at an early age and they are able to give some critical thinking, i remember when i was a kid, we weren't that aware of our surroundings as much as kids nowadays
>i guess, they complexity of life made their brain wider to receive more information than what we used to do

and in future, it seems that life will get even more compilected
so their brains will adopt that complexity by being smarter in order to live of course
