No. If women and men were equal, they'd be called the same thing.

However, are they both people deserving of happiness and basic rights? Yes. Human DNA -- whether male, female, black, white, Asian, Native American -- is 99.99% the same. Based on that alone, sociologically they all should be completely equal.

Last time I checked they were not.

Obviously they are different. If you mean if they must have same rights, then this is a different question, but it is quite dificult to get some knowledge if you start using the wrong words.

This is a common mistake nowadays, with perverse consequences: you start talking about "same rights of genders" and soon you will read about "men a women are the same"; you confuse "free speech" with "every opinion are equaly valuable"; or "all citizens have same rights" with "every person worths the same" --and obviously a rapist is not the same as a NASA engineer--.

Equal but different. Both genders have their strengths, mentally and physically, however that doesn't mean that any individual is to be held back by it, people break away from the "given role" all the time. Think about the gay men you know.

Sexuality and Gender are two seperate facets of an individual, and they aren't the only facets that define an individual.

Individuals are inequal in some aspects, and equal in others. Physical strength and human rights are two different yet vital ways to be equal and inequal.

Women who seek to be equal to men lack ambition.

In most ways yes. There are a few gender specific things that really don't amount to much. But other wise equal...

Obviously, they r equal by spirit. But we cant say they are similar, they are very much opposite so that they complement each other and make a wonderful life being together.
