The same as the difference between the earth and the moon. Roses vs shrubs? Love vs heartache? How much pain can you tolerate? Marriage is the joining together of two people who love each other so much they'd rather enjoy the pain of living together with the headache of life while giving each other the worst grief possible, while divorce is the other thing.

Divorce is break-up like marriage is to dating (with the difference of a lifetime promise and commitment coupled with responsibilities, legal issues and financial differences).

When you get married, you take a vow to love and cherish a person for the rest of your life no matter what.
When you get divorced, you sign a piece of paper stating that your marriage is dissolved due to issues that you couldn't work out.

Then again, with you asking this question, you're obviously too young to know anyway.

marriage is the desire to share your life with another person for the benefit of both of you emotionally, financially, mentally, spiritually over the long term. Commitment to each other and forsaking others helps you get thru the tough times when you're there not even the vapor of love left in the gastank.

divorce is the realization that for the benefit of the both of you, you've got to go your separate ways; life together has become destructive instead of productive.
