I mean he is such a good player,probably a legend.Why did he want to have such a poor end to his career by being sent off for a silly thing?

Moreover Zidane did not commit a single foul the whole worldcup and he did not come over even to receive his medal!!!

Zidane was insulted by Materazzi (I heard from the radio that the Italian football player insulted Z's mother). What would you do if some jerk said that to you???!!!
Zidane knew very well that he was being filmed by a dozen of cameras and if he did that, the insult must be really mean and nasty.
If I were Zidane, I would FINISH the match, and then punched the sh** out of Meterazzi.
And why NOBODY talks about Meterazzi as if he was innocent????

Zidane was losing his cool, because they could not score against the Italian, they only made a goal for a stupid penalty kick, that wasn't really a penalty. World over knows that the Italians are one of the best players in soccer, it doesn't matter what was said, this is the World cup, you don't foul up like that. Never had a doubt in my mind that Italy was going to win, they have awesome players on their team, just to mention a few Cannavaro, Totti, and Materazzi, who also kicked a goal in, which I'm sure Zidane was not pleased.

It's rather simple. You play over a hundred blood-sweating minutes.... ur hot, irritated, moody, and some guy you dont like comes and says something to you that has outdone anything anyone has probably ever said to you. I mean come on!! its ZIDANE!! hes played this game while some viewers were getting their diapers changed, so im sure hes heard it all, but in the world cup, after a hundred minutes of running, that punk musta said something BAD and so zidane showed him that he doesnt care about media's proposals, he played soccer like we do in the streets where if u talk about his mama (an expression) ur gonna get yours!! so Zidane is the Za MAN thru all the eyes of us who play soccer in the streets and hope to make it one day even close to where he stood as the best man to play the game in World Cup of 2006!

Consider the fact that Zidane is one of, if not the greatest player of all time. He has remained relatively low profile in the media throughout his career, and with his announced retirement has become the talk of the town. Maybe the press was to much for him and he subconsciously wanted to rid himself of this godlike image and villify himself. This possibility was given to me by a psychiatrist friend. Either way Zizou owes his fans an explanation.

I heard that the Italian player Matterezi said that Zidane's mother was a terrorist's stripper in Italian. Zidane used to play in Italia so he understood Italian and got really angry.

It makes me so sad! He is such a good player, telling the younger members on his team not to overreact and stay calm. This is my reason:
Materrezi used his head to score a goal
Zidane attempted with his head also, but missed
Materrezi made fun of him
Zidane used his head-butt to prove that he could!
Why else did he use his head? Most people shove or step on others!
I also think he wasn't allowed to receive a medal, now he won't get the golden shoes! :(

May be some one payed Zidane a lot of money not to play good and he decided this was a nice way to an end to his career, I mean face it football nowadays is a money making machine and match are decided off the field

hey who told u that zidane didnt do a single foul the whole tournament... in the first two matches he receive two yellow cards and couldnt play his third match becoz of ban...
