Lemon juice will do it, it will disolve the scale but do not leave it on for too long. Most gold coloured taps are coated with a protective layer. Use of any abrasive type cleaners will remove this layer and tarnish the taps.

Try a product that is called "The works", it's in regualar cleaning supplies. They have different ones for each problem. It works very well.

If the hard water is turning your hair color, try after shampooing using a dilluted solution of 3/4 vinger 1/4 water mix.

Use vinegar to remove the lime. You should check it in a small areas fist - I dont know what the gold colour is and cant tell you if it will stay. If you need a soft abrasive, use bicarb of soda.

Use window cleaner and a dry cloth and buff them, should work first time if not give it a few goes or do this over a period of a week and they should sparkle!

Try using lime a way. Its a good thing to use on hard water stains. Another one is C-L-R. Its also very good.

rub the taps slightly using still wool with any detergent and rinse it with plane water. repeat this until it regain the shininess
