It is unrealistic to win a war on terrorism. We are the cause of terrorism and thats why it struck us. When we kill one terrorist cell 5 more pop up in its place. We create terrorism in our policies and our culture. Not to mention we are one of the biggest terrorist in the world. Yup we dropped two bombs on innocent people. So i am sick of hearing we are going to win a BS war on terrorism.

First of all, I believe we're not the biggest terrorist, nor do I believe we are on at all. Terrorists are extreme fundamentalists whose doctrine if blame the West on all its problems and kill those who "defy" their belief. Ever since the 1970s, we have been the victim of terrorism, not the terrorists. Tell me, what have we done to them that made them want to murder us? During the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, we actually aided Bin Laden. Ever since that, he's bombed our embassies, marine baracks, the USS Cole, 1991 WTC bombing, 9/11, and a whole lot of other international attacks. Terrorists captured innocent civilians off the streets and kills them, sometimes even tortures. When have we, the US, do that on a daily basis? If terrorists were to win the war on terror, then they would kill everyone. And by the way, the war on terrorism is not only a war on terrorists, but a fight against a perverted ideology that calls for the murder on innocents.
P.S. I am not a fan of Bush, nor am I a conservative, but I have a firm belief that those who rape, kill, torture, kidnap, and do many other inhumane actions to innocent human beings and smile about it should be stopped.

Iraq is not just a war on terrorism. It is also about installing a democratic power in this country. Their governing power after Hussein was taken out of power asked for help with doing this. As for the U.S. being a terrorist nation because we dropped atom bombs on Japan is way out of context. Japan was working on the same type of bombs and would have gladly used them on the U.S.. Thank God we beat them to the punch and put an end to a war that would have lasted much longer with greater death tolls than imaginable.

The conflict isn't over yet, meaning the winner keeps to be unknown. Like optimal wars, some battles are received; some battles are lost. prevalent it would want to nicely be trustworthy to declare that Bush is extremely ahead interior the conflict on terror. easily Osama Bin encumbered has made little progression on his significant purpose, which strengthen into the overthrow of corrupt governments interior the Mid-East to get replaced by using ability of the caliphate spanning the full Ottoman Empire of previous. There are actual 2 fledgling democracies in Iraq and Afghanistan that are actual not out of the woods yet, yet are reason behind tempered optimism. The Sunnis brutally suppressed the Shiite in Iraq for some years so it is going to take it sluggish for the revenge and counter revenge to play out. yet optimal heavily, Bush has secured coorperation from both the Saudis and the Pakistanis in this conflict on terrorists. with the aid of actuality Bush's purpose has been containment, it will be judged a fulfillment. with the aid of actuality OBL's purpose strengthen into enhance and restructuring of the political map of the mid east it will be judged a failure. of direction the techniques and execution of the american secure practices pressure promotion campaign would were crisper. The acsendency of Iran as a hegemonic skill interior the section is problematical. yet on an same time the conflict is being received. inspite of the actuality that, it isn't being received as straight away with the aid of actuality the U. S. elctorate would favor to love, and it isn't being received without casualties, so the Bush adminsitration has attracted numerous grievance. yet is Bush prevailing the conflict on terror: positive he's!

Because they dug themselves a hole they can't get themselves out of by even invading Iraq ....( Which was the dumbest move we could have ever done ) ... ( Afghanistan I can agree with being there but Iraq was not a Country, nor a Nation or Regime that had anything to do with 9/11 or Al-Quadea!!

Getting back to your question & my point for the answer I am giving you.... Bush screwed up, and him & the rest of his administration can't suck it up and come to grips with the fact that they should be getting out of the Country that did nothing to us, really.

You are right, we are are creating a hot bed for terrorisim and only giving the " terrorists " and their leaders the reason for justifying their claim & proving to their followers that they were, and are right. ( Regardless of what we think, or view it as )

We are supporting their claim because we helped the Jews take their land ( which we know as Israel today ) and put them their, which also happened to be their " Holy " land and that is the most important thing to them if anyone hasn't figured that out yet.

This is a War that will never end, in my opinion. We are not doing very much diplomatically, but what about all the children, who are now parentless, mother-less, Father-less, or have lost sibilings or perhaps their entire family due to this War in Iraq?? If anyone doesn't think that those Children who are being taught this hate, or much less experiencing it or dealing with loss of a family member & don't understand why.....that in itself has the makings of the next terrorist who wants to attack America ( as revenge for killing his family, taking over his Country and watch it destruct...etc.. )

I think that it's a vicious cycle that we haven't reached out to understand and act on, especially Bush. Bush thinks he will be viewed years from now as a President who did the right thing and made the right decisions for our Country regarding this matter......contrary to that.....I think he is not living in reality, and living in his own " Bubble " and still hasn't come back to where all of us are in the real world, and " not the White House " .... really taken any situation seriously !!! I can't think of one thing that he has even accomplished in 6 years.....that is truely sad!!

The war on terror began with the frustration of Muslims in that they are taught that they are morally, intellectually and culturally superior to all others (In fundamentalist schools). And yet when they look around, they are technologically, monetarily and militarily inferior to the west. We did not bring this on ourselves anymore than the Hindus in India or the Philippinno Christians, or the Malaysian Christians, or the non-Muslim people of northern china, or the Ukrainian and Russian and Georgian Christians. Quite a long list of people being attacked by fundamentalist Muslims to blame it all on us.. isn't it?

Your lame! How can you sit there and say that we did that to ourselves?

Grow a pair and come over to Iraq of Afghan and see how much B.S. this war is! Tell the families of the fallen soldiers that this war is B.S. our soldiers aren't dying on their own!

The 2 bombs that were dropped were not in terror they were in response to being attacked! how does that make us a terrorist when we fight out of retaliation?

you will be the first person to support the war when something happens to your family, or someone you know because of a terrorist act...

Because to lose it would be an absolute disaster for the Western Way of Life.

The Asker of this question needs to pull his head out of his rectum and find the intelligence to ask himself if he wants to live under the brutal, murderous, iron-fisted intolerance as a form of government that is Islamo-fascism. With them, it's "Believe as I do or I will kill you." Do you really want that, you dimbulb dumba-s?

If you are so disenchanted with our American policies and culture, please book yourself a ticket to Iran, Iraq, Somalia, North Korea, Egypt, Zimbabwe or any of a hundred other third-world sh-tholes as soon as you possibly can. Get your worthless a-s out of my country and don't come back. I don't care whether you are an American or not. I am so sick of hearing the constant belly-aching and complaining from hate-America, defeatist, appeasement-minded libs like you. The only way to deal with terrorists is to kill them. Period.

And to whom are you referring when you say we dropped two bombs on an innocent people? If you mean Japan, please ask the Chinese about what happened in Nanking.

you know, terrorism can be defeated - i was invented in the first place, right? its an ideology - never completely destroyed, but defeated. same thing with facism. american nazis still exist, but they have a 1000 people memborship and they cant do anything or they become arrested. ideologies die with time, and eventually, an all out war with arab countries will erupt when a bombing hits a european country or the US and they are on the edge. it will be defeated, whether I live to see it or not, and i comfort myself in that.

do they really? i thought they were promising a "long war" to last a generation or more.

bush and co. will be dead of old age before then, and so therefore they will not "win" it.

but they can sure as heck invest in key defense stocks to get rich along the way! ha ha ha.

Well I suggest you convert to Islam then. If we lose then men will need to have the right beard length, and women will have to be barefoot, pregnant, and in a berka.
