Conversation is a deriative of the verb "converse"
To conversate would be to make a verb derived from a noun that is derived from a verb.
It's redundant, and frankly silly. Unfortunately it it becoming quite commonplace these days.
btw, the problem with "ain't" is not that it's not a word, but that it is so often used incorrectly. Ain't is the contraction of "Am not", and it would be grammatically okay to use it as such (I ain't saying people won't look down on you for doing it, just that it isn't improper). It's only wrong if used incorrectly in place of "isn't" or "aren't"

Since English is a living language, "conversate" is as much a word as "ain't" is due to their frequent use.
Conversate is not, technically, considered a word because the root word in "conversation" is converse, and conversate most likely came into existence due to a misunderstanding.

Conversate is a word if you are George W Bush.
The rest of the World use either:-
"converse", as in "John went over to converse with Mary" or
"conversation", as in "John engaged Mary in conversation"
"Ain't" is a crude slang word for "isn't" or "is not" and it's use in proper English should be avoided unless you want to come across as ignorant and uneducated - in other words, ain't ain't a proper word, innit?

Conversate is a word. It is ridiculous to think that a word only becomes a word when it winds up in the dictionary. That's like saying that dictionaries came before we uttered the first "oooga oooga."
Language is supposed to EVOLVE. Just like technology, science, and automobiles. Why is it that people think that new words or words not credited by Webster is a step backwards. If words never advanced, we would still only conversate using "ooga ooga."

because there is the word converse. the english language is one of the most complex...there's too many exceptions to rules. anyway, not sure why it is this way because there are words like designate, associate...

Conversate is not the correct usage, converse is.
If the basic structure of language is not respected soon we will all be saying nothing more than ooga booga

I asked the same question the other time.
If you can find that word in the dictionary, it means that there is such a word.
