Its difficult to answer your question as it pits one company against the other. You need to be specific about which bikes you are talking about.

Overall quality I feel herohonda is better, but you pay the price of quality which is more cost. I have both a CBZ (done close to 70k kms) and a karizma (around 30k kms). My friends who has pulsars normally change the clutch plates every 20k kms, but I have not done so in both the bikes (though the cbz is due for a change).

Coming to bikes - the best economy and no-jhanjhat bike is probably the splendor. It gives good enough mileage and you can keep riding it year after year.

in the 150cc segment, the pulsar 150 scores above the CBZ as it gives better mileage ( I had got max milage of 48kmpl on my bike, but regular running of the bike used to get me 35). Unicorn from Honda is another bike which has a good performance quotient.

But the 150cc pulsar was not against the CBZ it was against the fiero. If you take looks and performance then CBZ is much better than the 150 pulsar.

the 180 pulsar is faster than the cbz. The downside - people mistake it for the 150 pulsar. You are lost in the crowd.

the KariZMA is the topend bike. Its amazingly comfortable and quite quick. I have done my top distance on it - an all India trip of 5380kms - solo - and not once did I have a problem.

I wish Honda or Yamaha comes out with a 250cc bike.

Bajaj is also coming out with a 220cc , 20bhp pulsar. It will be faster than the karizma no doubt.

I which better is a Hero Honda, because it fast rather than Bajaj and bike brand. Bajaj running slow, and bike brand need some energy.
