The guy was amazing.
He didn't stop France's PKs, so what? If he had, he would be God ;-)
If you really like football, you should be able to admit that he deserved the award, or at least that he was one of the best in the tournament. If you don't, then you are just a bunch of sore losers who don't really care about the game ;-)

Buffon is amazing and I can't think of a better goalkeeper. I don't know how anybody can say anyone else is better since Buffon (aside from penalty kicks) only allowed 1 goal in. And that was from his own teammate. Pretty impressive.

Thoroughly deserved!
He was only beaten twice in the tournament and that was one penalty and one own goal.
Other goalkeepers do deserve mentions;
Lehmann was great as was Ricardo in the penalty shoot-out with England but Buffon was one of the only players to live up to his reputation.

just because he is the richest paid goalkeeper. In my opinion he did not desrve it Ricardo was great Lehman was awesome and the only goal Dida conceded was one that no goalkeeper could have caught in any lifetime!
ooh and despite that Buffon did not even dive towards the direction of any of the penalties leave alone block any of them at least barthez tried

Buffon deserves it!! but when it comes to goalkeeping in penalty shot out i think Lehmann's way better
