First, model your intelligence and knowledge of the English language by using it correctly. Secondly, have a commitment to helping young people and a passion for the subject(s) you teach. Realize you are teaching people who have not and most likely do not intend to major in your field. Have tons of compassion and energy and be able to communicate your ideas to your students at whatever level they need in order to understand. Then you will be a good teacher.
Good luck!!

Don't listen to these pinheads, and do check your spelling. None of these haters have probably ever taught anyone in their life.
Being a good teacher means being able to answer "yes" to some pretty tough questions, like:
Are you willing to help students who don't want to be there?
Are you willing to help students whose parents don't value education?
Are you willing to make less money than less educated people, and put in more hours per week?
If so, don't let anyone stop you. Good teachers are hard to come by.
Peace.

Tell us where you are teaching. Got to keep my kids far away from you. You need to go back to school.
