You took a risk and thats what happens. You should always have a guarantee that you can return stuff back. However, to get a bigger hard drive you can buy one. Infact you can get one that 250 Gb for less than a hunder. Now Iam sure you don;t want to spend that much. You can get one that is 80 gb for about 45$, the problem is now to know how to install it. Maybe you have some friends that can help you, or you can google on how to do it. The site is www.newegg.com They have pretty cheap stuff. Other than that I don't have any suggestions. You can get an external drive, but it probably wont' be enough.

Sorry For The Fact that You got jiped. Maybe if you bought it with your credit card, you can dispute it with your credit card company. Good Luck

If they advertised a 40 GB HD and did not tack on any fine print to weasel out of those specs, you should be able to report the business to the Chamber of Commerce or Better Business Bureau in your area if they don't take it back. It all seems like a lot of work if they will not admit their fault though. Make sure they cheated you before you try to take the computer back to them, too, or else you'll seem kinda silly. Good luck!

That is false advertising. See the store manager. If they will not refund, call the Better Business Bureau and report them. Then contact your states' Attorney General's office and file a complaint.

You can return it if it's not what it claimed to be.

Where did you get it? Are you certain of it's capacity?
