Nope. As a matter of fact, everyone that I know who says they have seen them has been kinda kooky.

Every day, all the time....

With regards to what they're doing?. Pretty much everything we do...

Some stay and watch over their family or home.

Some have been injusticed in some way and can't pass over til they "work through it".

I've also seen a number of times that the relative that passed, but cant cross over, because they need to let their family know that they really loved them.

One of the most common ones in this catagory are alchoholics. When they "die" and leave their body, they no longer have the disease and feel such remorse that they stay until somehow they get their message through. -- mainly, it wasn't your fault, I'm so sorry, and I love you so much.

Also, there are "ghosts" that have "crossed-over", and will be around for family functions -- births, baptisms, weddings, etc...I would say you would feel them more than see them... you'll smell grandma's perfume or grandpa's pipe, a bell would ring, etc... something specific to that person.

They're real people...And w/ regard to them being able to hurt you.. There are places that I wouldn't go to that are haunted by very malign ghosts, but you would feel it way, way before you got there -- like not feeling comfortable in a room. For the most part, though, the rule is that the one that has the body (i.e. you) makes the rules.

Also, you may want to keep in mind that sometimes the fear you feel when you think you're in the presence of a ghost, can very well be the ghosts, not yours... For instance... I can't go near funeral parlors -- can you imagine the kind of fear a little girl would feel when she "woke up" out of her body at the moment they were putting it in the oven for a cremation? You would actually feel her feelings....

Anyway... my two cents...

Hope I didn't blow you away.

Have fun with it..

And just for the record. I'm just a plain Jane, run of the mill 42 year old suburban mom that has a wonderful 14 year old son and a husband I wouldn't trade for the world.

Yes I have seen My Great Grandfather. I was thirteen years old and I had lie to My Aunt and told her I was going to go swimming and instead I went to a party. I was put in the hospital because I drank to much and I had to have my stomach pumped. After my release from the hospital three days later I was left at home for a few hours I was lying on the couch I fell asleep and something woke me up and when i looked down the hall There was my Great Grandpa standing there looking at me ans shaking his head. I closed my eyes really tight i thought i was dreaming and when i opened my eyes he was gone. then there was noises coming from the pool area I walked over to the sliding glass doors and looked in the direction of the noise and there was my Great Grandpa again and he was just shaking his head at me. Why my great Grandpa never said anything to me during all of this was because when he passed away he had throat cancer and it took his ability to speak. So He could not talk to me.

Ive seen plenty of ghosts in my day.
In my house ive seen a big black labordor retriver, my old cat.

back in 1994 a man killed his wife and himself in my neihbors house and some times i see the lady at the window because witnesses say thats were she was when her husband entered the room and shot her with a shot gun.

In cemeterys ive seen a little girl with a black face. at my friends house ive see orbs all a round his room. in some hotels ive seen people walking down halls then disappere in mid air.

i cant say how many i ve seen but there is alot. i aint scared of them though. they cant hurt you. only polterguists can and they do that by throwing stuff at you. even now as i type this to you I am getting the feeling that i am being watched even though im home alone.

Nope but i heard alot from them, like from the TV, Movies, newspapers and others... Beacuse yes, i believe that ghosts really do exists but i suppose that as humans, WE are just the only one making ghosts out of ourselves... We are humans, we have a limited information about supernatural forces and phenomena, but we have a big imagination which can generate a ghost which can scare us, or a friend (e.g. imagionary friends) which we can talk to....

Ghosts really exist, but our brains are the only ones generating those things

Im not sure, I was walking near a cemetary once and saw a small red light in the woods, like a globe. I told my freinds to look and its started pulsating, getting brighter then dim again. We took a few steps in the woods and all of a sudden it moved really fast and got big and came directly at us. I ran a 1/4 mile screaming my head off, because it was dark late at night and I was so scared/

Trouble is most of the time when someone talks about ghost it is normally about somebody else who has seen one. They seldom say that they have seen one and if they do they always find it difficult to vividly tell you the time or the place and circumstances where one appeared to them. It is always some vague nights, or dawn or dusk when dogs are howling, near graveyards etc... etc.. So it is very unlikely for one to say he or she has seen a ghost

yes...I once lived in a house that had 2 ghost the ghost was that of a man and his daughter who was found out to have died in earlier days of scarlett fever (history search).

Neither were harmful, but some funny things happened there. Keys on the table would suddenly be misplaced, glasses moved ect. We (my cousin, aunt and I actually saw the little girl figure asking us to come play. It is a very scary feeling when you don't know about them, but very interesting to learn about them.

And I do believe that spirits will not leave if they have unfinished business, as my grandmother who passed away hated my alcoholic father who was very abusive to my mom. The night of my grandmother's funeral, in the middle of the night my mom heard a knock at our door, when she got up to answer, she saw my grandmothers filmy figure, but just as it had appeared it disappeared.

That morning we were all awaken by my father throwing a fit, screaming at my mom that she had tried to choke him. My mom said she didn't, but a week later my mom found her mom's mothers ring underneath my fathers side of the bed...knowing that it was buried on/with her a week earlier!!! My grandmother had tried to take him with her!

Ghosts, spirits, the damned; I'm sure you can think of things to call them. I have seen them. My most infamous time was in my old place in San Diego. I lived by myself and never locked the doors. I knew I was safe. One day the neighbors were over and we were all talking about ghosts. "My friend" decided he would make himself known and sat right next to me. The hair stood up all over my body and I was freaked out. I kindly asked him to go back upstairs and he did. That was the end of our conversation about ghosts.

Yes I have seen ghosts but all it did was look out the window, then stare at me for about an hour. I even know who the ghost is.

Yes, at a haunted house (a real one, not a halloween type one).

She was beckoning my friend and me to the house. We weren't aware she was a ghost at the time because we were with a group of people.
