She didn't say anything about keeping the fish in there, so I guess more than 30 as long as you get some dead ones you can stack them up really well lol.

The general rule with gold fish is: 1 fish per 10 gallons of water. That is, if it is one of the larger, fancy ones. If you have a small, "feeder" type, then 2 gallons should be fine for no more than 2 fish. They need lots of room.

A two gallon tank is not fit for any fish, especially a gold fish. Goldfish emit a lot of waste, like ammonia and are hard to keep in anything that small. Rule of thumb in fresh water fish is one inch of fish per gallon. That's one inch per GROWN fish, so you'll have to figure out how big your fish is going to get, not how big it is right now as a youngster.
There is a different rule for gold fish however, and it's one inch of fish per TWO gallons of water. And you'll need filtration and aeration as well.
So you see, you should not get anything smaller than 10gal, 20 would be so much better. Good luck.

One or two teeny weeny ones - and I MEAN teeny weeny ones! 2 gallons is not enough for standard size fish! I have a 6 1/2 gallon with two large goldfish. They are perfectly healthy, happy and comfortable, but could absolutely not remain that way if I had even one more average guy in there.

Fancy goldfish need more room than that, but it'll live for a while if you've already got one. The rule for feeders is 1 gallon per 1 inch of fish, including tail.

None!!! A two gallon tank is only suitable for something like a betta. Get yourself at least a 20 gallon with either two fancy goldfish or one common. Visit www.kokosgoldfish.com for tons of great info and a wonderful forum.

goldfish grow to almost a foot in length and live for almost 30 years if well cared for.
keeping them in a small tank will harm them as there is not enough room to grow and their spines are deformed.
Get a bigger tank, like a 20 gallon or larger for goldfish, otherwise you could keep a betta in your 2 gallon tank.

None. Goldfish need at least 20-gallons EACH as juveniles, and anywhere from 40-gallons to a pond as adults.

No more than 3 or 4, I would just put in 2.
ANd make sure you clean it frequently, at least once a week.
The more fish in it, the less oxygen they have for health and growth, and the faster the water is dirty.

2 inches of fish ... is a general guidline. So maybe a betta or a gold fish would be best.
