Vaginal birth is generally best for both mother and baby, providing both are healthy and no complications. While childbirth is painful, and it varies from woman to woman, there are many effective pain relievers available, and the worst pain is generally over in 10-12 hours.
With a c-section, the procedure itself is painless due to anesthesia (from waist down), but the pain during recovery will last 1-2 weeks, and can be severe. Also, the risks of complications are greater because of the incision and other factors, and it takes much longer to be back on your feet and functioning in your every day life.

I had a c- section when I had my son hunter .. it hurts alot ecpecially b/c my epidural didn't work.. I was in labor for 2 days feeling all the pain and then when it's time for the baby to come out they say my blood pressure was too high so I had to do a c section... it hurt me for like 3 weeks afterwards .. If I did decide to have another baby it would be done by c section b/c after ur first one you can call and make an appt for when you want to have the baby! it's really awsome and way worth the pain ...
the only thing that did go wrong was that the epidural didn't work and that stupid hospital wasn't giving me enough pain meds... but it's okay b/c I have a beautiful son who is now a year old as of June 27,2006!
and plus from the epidural they did give me that didn't work I still to this day have back problems .. like they put it in wrong I cant exersice as much as I used to if I lay on the floor on my back I have to get help to get up b/c I can't move alls I do is shake trying to get up....

It hurts more while pushing out a baby, as c-section is done with analgesic called epidurals. For a two hour or three hour pain, you are exchanging life time spinal pains when you go for c-section. Many dangers and losses in C-section can be read at:
click on the link
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ayurvedaonline/messages
then type word c-section or epidurals in search window and several message titles will be displayed. click on each title to read the message
C-section should be avoided for future of yur baby also. MOre damage to baby than to you, since baby misses many things such as colostrum, good milk supply, better bond etc

It shouldn't hurt to have a C-section if the anesthiseologist is any good. It does take longer to recover from and removal of the stitches or staples can be quite painful. I've had a C-section but was lucky to be put out completely.

you don't feel a thing when your having a c-section they have you medicated therefore no pain but longer recovery that is torture that's why the doctors will send you home with some pain killers (for my 1st c-section it took me 2wks to stop taking anything for pain on the 2nd c-section the 3rd day)
when you are having a baby vaginally it hurts during the labor but recovery is much faster(with my 1st born it took me about a week to recover) but if you take an epidural you won't feel a thing

Having a C-section (short for Cesarean Section) takes longer to recover. I have never had one, but my sister did. She was on medication for a little while. Having birth naturally can be painless if you have an epidurral (numbing your body from the waist down).

It's sad that I being a man have to tell you that if you can't spell C-Section or Cesarian Section, you shouldn't be breeding....
