Hi, I am 24 and have a job that pays $35K a year (biochemist with a masters) and have been working for over 1.5 years and still live with my parents. I have a new car that only costs $180 a month and I still cannot seem to save any money even though i only go out and spend no more than $50 on weekends for fun....I have friends who are my age and are married and have multiple children and seem to be living the high life....wtf?

Paying off student loans? Credit cards a problem? Getting jacked on car Insurance? You have to budget like crazy and really plan things out. Find anyway you can to reconcile any debt you have.
Best wishes, pal, I've been there.

This is how it works. If you were to get married and have kidz, all of a sudden, you'll still have no money, but you'll have a wife and kids and a place of your own to live. If your only spending $380.00 a month....firguring you got out once every weekend, then you've got to be spending more moeny on things you don't consider. Gas / lunches.....ect. It all adds up, but believe me, through some miracle, you tend to do more with the same amount when you have a family. I don't know how it works. It just does. I use to be in the same position......now I have a house / two car payments and three kids / four dogs / three cats / two birds and two rabbits and somehow, we're all fed and the bills get paid. It helps that the wife works.

what u see may be it isn't real ,not everything shines is gold.but this is my advice i have never been under credits since i started working ten years ago ,how? u may ask. stay away from credit cards if u dont have the ability to buy a car cash u dont have to buy by installment.because the devil is there in the credit cards&loans.my friends always keep asking me how do live without credits and i always answer the same" at the beginning of my professinal i didnt run to have a car or mobile phone or credit cards,or laptops".i lived with this for 4 years and after i started having every thing i wanted step by step now i have a new car & a small house.in the end i want to tell you this never ever put yourself under credits pressure .

Do you have an account? That can be the first thing to do. open up a savings and checking account. The next check you get you can split it and put half in savings and half in checking. savings will add interests, so put a little bit in there and you'll have money. and the reason they seem to have more is because there are two people making money or one of them is really bringing the bacon, and they probably started saving their money earlier on in the months or years. so don't worry. just start saving.

I think that allot of people just really live beyond their means. In other words, they have a lot of debt. It's not something people tend to talk about. I don't know how you can still live with your parents. I'm single too and live on my own. And I make much less than you do- about $26,000.
Do you have allot of debt such as credit card or student loan debt? I don't have a lot of debt. I saved money while in college and lived at home till I graduated.
