Stop Snoring Tips

The following tips will hopefully give you relief with your snoring problems. It's important to remember that different remedies will have varying success depending on the individual.

1)…Elevate your head by sleeping on a thicker pillow or multiple pillows will help reduce your snoring.

2)…Don't drink alcoholic beverages, take sleeping pills, tranquilizers, or antihistamines right before going to sleep, they will cause your muscles to relax and limit your air passage way.

3)…Avoid dairy products, which can cause mucus build-up right before you go to sleep.

4)…If you are overweight, losing some weight will reduce snoring by increasing the space in your air passage way.

5)…Sleeping on your side instead of your back will help to prevent snoring.

6)…A common remedy to prevent sleeping on your back is to sew a tennis ball to the back of your shirt; the discomfort of sleeping on the ball will prevent you from staying on your back.

7)…Try following a regular sleep routine.

8)…Try taking in a little bit of honey before sleeping.

9)…Don't eat a big meal right before bed, if your stomach is full it will push up on your diaphragm and limit breathing passage ways.

10)...Avoid eating "rich" foods such as cakes, cookies, chocolate and pizza.

11)…Sleep on a firmer pillow, a pillow that's too soft encourages your throat muscles to relax and narrows your air passageway.

12)…Inhale steam before sleeping or sleep in a room with a humidifier turned on, which will reduce congestion and moisturize the throat.

13)…Purchase some nasal strips and put them on before going to sleep. Nasal strips will open up your nostrils and allow more air to come in, thus reduce snoring.

14)…If you are a smoker, stop smoking, if that is not feasible then avoid smoking right before you go to bed. Smoking causes inflammation and swelling of the throat.

15)…Take anti-snoring pills or use anti-snoring nasal spray.

16)…Consult a medical profesional if your snoring continues to adversely affect your sleep.

Good Luck

Being sleep deprives makes you dysfunctional in so many ways. Most noticeably to other people, you may become more irritable and short tempered, and spouses are likely to get the brunt of it because they are around you all the time. Try to find out why he doesn't want to do the surgery. Is he scared? Is he worried about getting a bill? Try to be compassionate, but explain that you feel his unwillingness to help you deal with this issue is making you feel hurt and resentful. And this may sound odd and inappropriate, but sleeping in seperate rooms may save your sanity and your relationship. Sure it's unconventional but who cares. What difference does it make that you're sleeping in the same bed if while you're awake you can't stand each other. Best wishes

Sorry, no.
I actually find hubbys snoring comforting. I know he is here with me, alive, and well.

There are a variety of products available to help curb snoring, talk to your local pharmacist about them.

Also, if you husband snores a lot, listen to see if he sometimes stops breathing for a few seconds at a time ... this is called sleep apnea, and can be dangerous, it also causes daytime tiredness, and should be lo oked in to by a doctor.

There r two ways out for u. First is get urself used to with that. If u practice, u will be able to sleep. Just say and believe it strongly that his snorring will not disturb u and try to sleep. Second way is ask him to consult some good physician, after all, it is a medical problem.

Ha ha! I'm totally in the same boat! I'm totally and helplessly in love with my boyfriend and soulmate Tony but his snoring keeps me up! But not too much that I don't get any sleep...well, not that I get too much time with him anyway - I'm in a long distance long term relationship with my darling. Anyway, I'm sure I'll get used to it when the time comes! Hang in there! Lol!

I do, mine man snores when he is drunk and that makes me upset and end up waking him up so that we just make love instead of him making noise for me. I cant leave the bed even if I am irretated since I need his warmth.
