there are so many things that can affect a growing baby and alcohol is one of them. I feel bad for you that you are turning 21 and are pregnant, but at the same time I know I would not risk anything for the health of my baby. Some babies still turn out okay, but you will be taking a risk. I'd ask you to not take that risk, and if your are pretty well along and people can tell, you'll probably get a lot of bad looks and someone might even say something to you about it. Safe face, and keep your baby healthy, and celebrate after the birth of your child.

Try to avoid all alcoholic beverages. You'll be 21 all year. Have a cold one when the baby is born. (Unless you plan to breastfeed), then the baby eats and drinks what you eat drink. I know you are young but start being a responsible parent before the little one even gets here. Happy birthday, you are getting the best present in the world. A beautiful HEALTHY baby. Also consult your doctor, but I wouldn't and I am 18 weeks pregnant. Think about it.

One drink should be fine!!! Hubby and I open a bottle of wine from time to time, I have no more than one glass. Americans are far more freaked out about this kind of thing than other countries. It's true, no one know how much is too much. But I've never heard of anyone having ONE drink, and have problems or deformaties due to it. I was 20, pregnant with my 2nd child, and my mom sent me home with a wine cooler (to drink when I got there, not in the car... in case anyone is wondering). Even she knew it wouldn't hurt the baby, and being able to relax would actually help me sleep better!! So, how is A drink a bad thing!!!

The other thing to think about... who's driving home!?!?!? Be sure there is a non-drinking friend who is responsible for getting people home!!

from what i have been told the first 3 months of pregnancy are the most criticle when you want to try your hardest not to put any kind of toxins in your body. i was a month and a half pregnant didnt know i was pregnant until 3 days after this happened but i got alochol poisining really bad i stopped breathing all sorts of stuff i dont remember any of it. i also got drunk a few times a couple of weeks before that happened and ive drank every once in a while since plus i didnt go to a dr until my 5th month and my dr says my baby is in perfect shape actually he is heavier by a few oz then most babys so no it wont hurt ur baby more then likly. that is all based on you drinking everyday all day long. its actually healthy to drink a glass of red wine or 1 can of beer a week or every couple of days. it helps with the blood or something like that

NO it isn't. Sorry to tell you that but whatever is developing in your baby at the time you take that drink will be affected. Better safe than sorry. Look at the bright side ....on your 22nd birthday you can have that drink and celebrate a happy healthy baby too!!!

Wine has been shown to be acceptable in VERY small amounts during pregnancy. If you must have a drink on your birthday try that. If you are visibly pregnant, I wouldn't recommend doing this is public, you will get quite a few evil stares.

I'm sure you can have a little bit and everything should be fine, but I'd really check up on that with the doctor if I were you. I personally wouldn't have a whole glass, not even half.

But...I have to ask..if you don't drink, WHY would you want to have a drink now that you are pregnant?!

Are you that selfish as to risk something happening to your baby? I mean, come on, you're pregnant, and you can't wait a few months to have an alcoholic drink?! That's sad. Yeah, you'll be 21, but do you really want to risk it?

No!!!!!!!!!!Wait until the baby is born.
I have heard that if the woman is even tipsy the baby is completely drunk. You may get a little tipsy with just one margarita I know that I do because I hardly ever drink.
