You do not need one yet. It will be required by 2008 though. You can currently get across the border with two forms of ID.

If you are visiting Canada you need a passport and a photo of yourself. a picture ID would be great. If you want to move to Canada it will take a little more then that. You would need to contact the Embassy of Canada in America. You will need a living visa, and a work visa. As for citizenship I am pretty sure Canada allows dual citizenship with the US however I would read up on that. Last I checked only the US and the UK allow dual citizenship. Any other country would require you to give up your US citizenship first.

at this point in time 2 Ids will get you in and out of Canada. {drivers license..birth certificate} By the end of the year a passport will be needed, so might as well get it now before the rush.

Yes, ive tried to get into canada once and i got all the way to the border which is about 4 hours from where i am now and forgot my passport and i always leave it in the glove compartment of my car. (which is probably not that safe but anyway) point of the story is i forgot it on my dresser no clue how it got there but i couldnt get over the border. lol i hope this answers your question.

no.... if you have a canadian passport( a mullet) The mullet is also reffered to as a canadian passport as all the mullet orignated in canada. Just another notch in canadas long running list of achievements i think th emullet is right next to the cfl, and tom green
