Because it's all the fun of being single without the loneliness!
Because they love one another so much that they're running out of ways to express it. Roses, dinners at expensive restaurants, candles and massage oil...man, it is so overdone. It's like the Hallmark greeting card solution to a troubled marriage. It's lame. You can pretend it says "I love you" but unless it means something to you, you might as well have saved yourself $195 and gotten her a greeting card.
But what my husband gave to me was the biggest, most romantic, most selfless and creative gift I've ever received: he gave me my sexuality back. I gave it to him for a wedding gift - like a severed limb on a silver platter - a grotesque thing that is usual and customary to give one another (in the form of wedding vows). Not only do we give it away, but we EXPECT it from our partner in return. But he woke up and smelled the coffee and said "To hell with what everyone else SAYS I'm supposed to want from you! I don't want you to stop being sexual for my sake. Because that makes you into someone other than the person I fell in love with. So here! Take it back, because it looks much better on you than on me."
So I took it back. I loved him for loving me so much, so I gave him the same in return. Now we each enjoy seeing one another flirting and playing like kids, and it makes us feel good about ourselves that we were able to add to one another's lives in this way, instead of detracting from it.

Because after being together for a long time you start to get bored sexually. This is a reality they don't tell you about in Disney movies. It is nice to mix things up with new people. Swinging is a good option because it allows you to do it together so there are not, secretive, cheating feelings. Psychologically it can be very healthy and have saved many marriages.

well this is just another better way to spice up your relationship... you have to have a lot of trust and agreement on both ends... and make sure that both of you guys want this not just one person.. cuz in the long run it will end in disaster...this is not for everybody... you have to be raw bold to be able to see you love one getting **** by another man or women.... I honestly think that some couples see swinging as an option to solve their marriage problems and that's why they end up breaking up...I think that if swing it should be use as entertainment only to have fun not to solve issues you may have because the issues started between 2 people only... and it should be solved with 2 people as well... a third party will only make matters worse in the long run!!!

I have to agree with tool. Sometimes being married doesn't mean you are sexually active with your spouse. If swinging makes couples lives more fun and exciting than that is what
they are going to do.Don't worry for how people think about you,
just lived your life and do what you think is right.

I have to agree with Tool; I was a swinger for about 5 years, It helped alot and then it went down hill later. My spouse thought it was greener on the other side and it wasnt! Some people can trust and live that life, and be happy.. Just make sure u have PLENTY of trust and Enjoy!.

as far as happily married couples, i have no idea... it's not sexy, and def'ly not healthy... when i'm married, he is to be mine, all mine!!! and, better believe i'm to be his and only his!!!
