The real lesson is that the Germans sacrificed their democratic way of life and the freedom of all citizens and their individual rights for international power. They all accepted the racist views against jews, even if they didn't specifically agree. Generally, the people had clues and rumors but the concentration camps had been generally well concealed. It's about ideals - the Germans actions led to giving up their own rights for their government, and they were lucky enough not to be the ones who had been killed in those camps.

Yes, there were some. Thousands of Germans were murdered for either speaking out against Nazism or smuggling jews out of the country. Those who claim that they had no knowledge of death camps were telling the truth. SS guards built their towns in a way as to surround the camps, and all death camps were built away from German communities, the worst in Poland. It should be noted that if your government is taken over by a violent psychopath, the will of the people is ignored. Witness what is happening in America right now with George Bush!!

the only innocent German back then was a baby. i do believe most were unaware of the atrocities going on in their backyard. I'm sure the regime was oppressive even to their own people. I'm glad it's over, i don't understand how neonazi's can say that the holocaust didn't happen.

I'm sure there were a lot of "innocent" people, having known or not is another story. I'm sure that they all knew what was going on but, what were they supposed to do? What would you have done in their position? Speak or act against it and be killed or just sit back and watch it happen and hope that you weren't killed in the madness? I'm sure it was very hard for some of the people there to see what was going on. Not all people think the same, no matter what you are talking about or believe in. "Innocence" is what you define it as, if the people didn't try to do something about it, does that make them guilty? To some, I'm sure it does and thinking back on it, it might to me too but, you also have to put yourself in their shoes where your lifde may have been on the line to try and stop something you had no power to.

Absolutely....ALL wars are made by those of the "elite," they wish! they are the scum of the earth to God Almighty,to gain control of the world. It has been so from the beginning...
Get in there and study all about it. It is all on the web..
Unfortunately there will be some baddies just like we are seeing of our own....but mostly others are innocent. Not to say that many many Jews WERE done to as we have heard. I am just not one to believe the figures.
Too bad we can't just put the leaders in the ring w/each other.
