The best team of all time according to computer simulation is the 1906 Chicago Cubs over the 2nd best 1927 NY Yankees....
Someone earlier said the 1975 Reds beat the 1927 NY Yankees in computer simulation...Yes sometimes but if you play them thousands of times the Yankees will win a majority of the games...The numbers prove this out...I have run many millions of simulated games over the past 15 years...To answer my questions...
NY Yannkees 1927 - Batting
- W - L - BA - OB% - SLG - R - HR
-110 - 44 -.307 - -.371 - .488 - 976- 158
NY Yankees 1927 - Pitching
HR - R - WHIP - OB%
42 -605 - .130 - .313
Cincinnati Reds 1975 - Batting
- W - L - BA - OB% - SLG - R - HR
108 -54 - .271 - .353 - .401 - 840 - 124
Cincinnati Reds 1975 - Pitching
- HR - R - WHIP - OB%
112 - 586 -.131 - .319
What the heck it's about being a fan of the game...My favorite team the 1953 Brooklyn Dodgers is far from the best of all time...They had IMHO the best starting 8 of the modern era(1946-today)...but, their pitching was average at best...
C - Roy Campanella - .312 -.395 -.612 - 41HR
1B - Gil Hodges - .302 - .393 - .550 - 31HR
2B - Jim Gilliam - .278 - .382 - .415 - 6HR
3B - Billy Cox - .291 - .356 - .443 - 10HR
SS - Pee Wee Reese - .271 - .365 - .420 - 13HR
LF - Jackie Robinson - .329 - .418 - .502 - 12HR
CF - Duke Snider - .336 - .416 - .627 - 42HR
RF - Carl Furillo - .344 - .392 - .580 - 21HR
They scored 955 runs...
Not to be completely argumentative here but it seems like the 1931 A's(107-45) were one of the best of all time not the 1930 A's(102-52)...

The New York Yankee organization is the most success sports francise in the history of all sports. As far as individual teams and years go, here is a really awesome and surpising factoid:
Many will say the 1927 Yankees, but there were only eight teams in the American League at the time. A more modern era club beats the 1927 Yankees in computer simulations consistently and that team is: The 1975 Big Red Machine Cincinnati Reds!
Joe Morgan, Johnny Bench and Tony Perez are in the Hall-of-Fame; as Pete Rose would have been had he been able to control his gambling urges.
