I started checking out questions in this category because people seemed friendlier and actually ANSWERED questions that were posted because in the other categories people just lecture you or criticizing you for merely asking a question!
Now I find that this one is just like the rest!
What is Yahoo!Answers for, anyway? I thought it was for people to ask questions and get answers or opinions from others who have "been there", I didn't realize it was just a forum for others to chastise you!

People have come here to preach. It's gotten out of hand. There are more "religious bigots" here to tell us, the LGBT community, how and why we are all going to hell.
Its just like real life except they hide behind a screen name.

People are hostile because we are animals still ingrained with our survival insticnts, perhaps the most influencial is agression. We say we are civilized and for most of the time we are. Although this is only when we are in civilization, or society. In society logic rules; if you do something bad the entities around you will have a reaction of punishment. If you know that you won't get caught whats the big deal of building up your ego. There are to types of people that will be hostile to you online. People who are naturally aggressive to everyone, which is a result of behavoiral and /or physical conditioning. The other type of person is too weak to display their aggression (afraid of actual retailiation) so maybe thier hostile comments will help them live out their dream of being powerful, dominant, the alpha male. Honestly I wouldn't waste your time on the talking to strangers on the internet. Just know that you don't have to be dominant to be happy, you just have to find your niche in society. It's not always an easy thing to find but it will make you happy in the end. And that is what I conclude to be meaing of life. In short people can be assholes, so don't take it personally.

Yep. I think most people watch the 'all categories' and don't notice what category the question is in. Its easier for people to pounce on a question here, with a smart remark cos they don't have to deal with the consequences as they would in real communication. Many dont even seem to think before they post a question, they just want some attention I think, to watch their inbox fill up with replies. Its a shame Im even considering quitting yahoo answers because of all the garbage in it. Cant be bothered sifting anymore.

I'm sorry you have been chastised.Often people know no other way to express their feelings and opinions. I try to take it with a grain of salt and go on, looking for the good things I can glean from the rants and lectures. As for the hostility, some are,sure, but there is always once out there to answer civilly and with some foresight. Or so I believe.

What you have to accept is that this is an open forum. So, sometimes people will use it as a space to rant, as much as they might support or other wise be positive to their fellow men. The point is we all come on here for different reasons, but you have to take away the positive. Turn the negatives around and learn from the spectrum of people that come on here.

Ooh, I know, I can't stand it. People come into this section to preach and spread their hatred or their dislike. And I'm thinking "If you hate gay people so much or disagree with us, why are you spending so much time in this section?" Who are they trying to convince. It's insane, I just deleted one of my questions because I got too many negative answers, nobody was really even reading the question before they got mad and responded. It's nuts, I swear. People have nothing better to do with their time.
I was mad, too, that was a well thought out question. And I was trying to prove a point, apparently nobody got it.

Most of the gay people in this enviroment are hostile because of IGNORANCE or DENIAL. Just like the NON GAYS being hosilte.
Everyone wants to whine about this and that.
