Yes you cant come in illegally and get caught and then not get rebuked for it. If you allow those people who enter illegally to stay then it only encourages more to come (hence the mass amnesty in 1986, it didn't fix anything it only made it worse). You have to create punishments that deter an offense not ignore the offense and then award it when too many people start to do it, and then alienate those who tried to do things legally in the first place.

1. Ilegal immigrants are taking jobs away from Americans who are disabled, not well educated or other wise have difficulty obtaining gainful employment.
Jobs should first be given to US citizens, not illegals.
2. Almost all other countries have very tight borders. Why not the US.
People who have applied and gone through the correct channels to get here should have priority over illegals.
3. Ilegals cost too much and are a burden because they don't pay taxes, yet receive lots of benifits. They use our resources, crowd our schools, and get the benifits people pay through taxes.
4. Many illegals get medical care when our own citizens are refused because they have no health insurance.
5. This situation is disgusting and should be stopped.
6. Politians want the votes! That's what this is all about.

It would be economic suicide to try and deport the people that are already here. However, in the interest of not getting away with what is technically a crime, they should have to have work permits to work here, and to get a work permit, they should have to pay taxes, even if they are not citizens, or even here legally. If employers hire workers who do not have work permits, then they should be assessed a stern penalty that far exceeds the worth of hiring illegal immigrants. I think by that system, we can provide the immigrants with the work they need, while collecting revenue to fund the services they utilize while they're here. I understand that they have it bad in Mexico and can make more money here, but if they are going to use our healthcare and other services they need to pay for it like everyone else.

Where would this country be if all immigrants were kicked out? All of our ancestors were immigrants too, the Mayflower did not come to America full of American citizens. The United States of America is THE Melting pot of the entire World, if all immigrants and their descendents were removed from the U.S. no one would live here!!!
If you don't like the U.S. and All of the people that live here, get the hell out of this country!! Go somewhere else, you go back to your roots and leave the people in the U.S. alone. We would be fine with less people of your opinion anyway.

If they want to stay, let them play by the rules. Do we really need 20 million new people who's first act in the US was to commit a crime?
