I am now 33 weeks pregnant and the last 2 days I have been expericening alot of major hip pain and shooting pain in the pelvic area. I have also noticed today the baby has only moved maybe a handful of times. I have tried getting intouch with the emergency on call dr where i go but the pain is getting to the point where i can hardly walk. I have also been getting a pain for a couple hours now like something has been riped between the increase of my leg to my stomach. What should I do try the on call dr again or go to the er and request an ultrasound and make sure all is okay. I just went to the dr on friday and they didnt do nothing but measure my stomach.

Yes, you should go to the ER right away! If the on call Dr. has not gotten back with you then you need to take that up with your doctors office first thing when they open up.... Before then Go straight to the ER and tell them what has been happening, describe the pain as accurately as you can, sharp, dull, shooting, stabbing, lasting, lingering, comes and goes, etc. What ever applies. Tell them as much information as you can. See if they bring up an ultra sound, if they do not then yes you should request one. As far as the doctor just measuring your stomach at your last visit, that is common for many of the doctor appointments. Normally they do not do to many ultrasounds. I hope everything is alright! Your baby may just be in a position that is pulling on you from the inside more then your body was ready for. Yet I would go get it checked out to see right away. Let us know when you find out!!!

Pain indicates that something is wrong, that's what it's for.
You are more than 8 months pregnant and the baby could very well be on the way.
Do you have a family member you can call right away?
You should contact your Doctor as soon as possible and describe the pain you are feeling...please don't wait any longer.

Go to the doctor.
Hopefully it's just sciatic...the baby resting on the nerve that controls your leg, but at this phase of the pregnancy don't take any chances. Luckily if it's labor you're far enough along to deliver a healthy baby...doctors like to really wait till 34 weeks.

I remember experiencing these exact pains hun. If you just went to the doctor on Friday, the baby has to be ok. I cant imagine them over looking something as important as the movement of your unborn. Did you tell them what your experiencing? I am sorry for answering so late to this question and I hope everything is still ok. If you have anymore concerns email me at loveshy34@yahoo.com.

I would go ahead and get over to the ER. It could be sciatica, where pain starts from your hip and travels down to your leg. I had it when I was pregnant, but because you are stating you are also having pains to your stomach, I would say go to the ER and get checked out.

I am not a doctor myself but am a father of a 3 year-old and I cannot remember my wife had such pains. If I was your husband I would carry you to the hospital right away - I hope you're only reading this only after you've returned home.

I feel that you need to go to ER right away because honestly you do not know what is going on with the baby and neither do I. It is best to get to someone with professional expertise on the matter ASAP. Take care and I hope that all is well.

you should be there now not on yahoo answers..
Even if it's nothing it's better to be safe than sorry. My doctor told me my baby should move @ least ten times an hour and if she doesn't to go to the ER.

Yes. go to the ER. Even if it has nothing to do with the baby something is wrong. Stop what you are doing and go now.

If you have that much pain, it makes sense to go to the ER. Don't take a chance...go now! I hope everything turns out okay!
