Useful talents are boring. The only thing useful about useful talents are you can put them on resumes if you're looking for a job and they might pay you if you use them in a useful way. Otherwise why would anyone brag about something they're forced to use every day?

It's the useless ones that are fun to talk about, like being double jointed and twisting your legs up into a pretzel. Or whistling to rap music in the shower. Absolutely useless, but yes, stupid talents are a lot more fun! :)

I have a good ear for picking up accents and cadences in people's spoken language. Since I'm a writer and an actor, both help me create believable dialoge and spoken word on the page and the stage.

i am a master at trivial pursuit. or in my husbands words, "an arrogant know it all who never loses". is that a useful talent? i am also a good writer and a great cook (both more useful than the trivial pursuit talent) :)

1.I can control my students with a glance:i open my eyes wide, tilt my head, and i lift my right eyebrow. No shouting needed. my technique is known as La Mirada. when my students see me doing this they literally freeze.

2. As a working mom I have perfected the art and science of multitasking.
