The only one who can do anything that will show results is your spouse. Unless that person grows a backbone and tells them they need to keep their worries and advice to themselves, you are wasting your time. One thing that worked for my daughter with her husbands parents - she and her husband started having fun with it. They will look at each other and say, "Honey, that sounds good, what do you think?". In-laws think they are being taken seriously and are happy. Kids are trying not to laugh out loud. Gets them through the day!

you gotta be more specific than this. i think most in laws nag it just depends about what and how frequently they are doing it as to what your response should be.

Kill them with kindness. But you can get them too.
My mother-in-law would come over and run her fingers over things to see if there was dust. One time she did it on the top of the fridge. There was dust and she pointed it out to me. I thanked her for noticing it and pointed out that I am too short to see it unless I am cleaning the entire kitchen, I then handed her paper towels and cleaner and asked if she could please take care of it for me as I was cooking and didn't want to ruin her meal.

Just smile and say thank you alot, it drives them past insane that they don't get on your nerves.

Step mom use to bug me to death till I started to do nothing but kill her in kindness. Took a year of it but she finally gave up buggin' me at all now.

i find any of my husbands family can be tolerable as long as the grandmas are around, they rock! fun, intelligent, interesting stories, makes family time a blast. hang with the grandmas!
