Immediately it is the media, without a doubt. Even when the correct history is written, it doesn't really make a huge bit of difference. A good example is FDR's documented prior knowledge of Pearl Harbor. It's out there in the realm of historians, but you won't find much relevance to it in modern society.
The media, or should we say the irresponsible media, can brand someone as a pervert, a liar, and a criminal without due process of law. It is shocking that half truths and out and out fabrications have been used in recent elections to modify public opinion. Even in the face of facts that prove the lies and deceptions are false, the deep first impressions have been made.

Historians, the media is very unreliable and i think people would believe a historian more. Also they don't try and twist stories like the media does. History has always been kept alive by these individuals and always will. Media is just corrupt.
