One of the best guitarists to have ever existed, and certainly one of the most influential. He completely changed the way guitar is played by taking blues and rock and using distortion. **** I mean Clapton and McCartney are his biggest fans (well not nearly as big a fan as me) and that says a lot. People may say he's overrated, but he's a legend for a reason. He did more for music in four years than most guitarist do in their lifetimes.

Was the greatest left handed, electric, gypsy, voodoo, native American, blues, psychedelic, honorary British rock guitar player ever and a fantastic showman!
Yes he was.
In 3 years he did more for music than most artists manage in a lifetime.
Eric Clapton idolized him...but as with a lot of great art, Jimi Hendrix could appear overrated and inaccessible to those that just didn't get it...a bit like jazz did when it started. Hendrix is still the single most influential rock guitarist of all time.

Played the national anthem like no other. Amazing guitarist who met a horrible death. I wish he would have kept rocking, but his memory is as a legend.
