Typically, students sit for the SAT/ACT during their junior year although the test can be taken anytime even after one has graduated from high school.

It doesn't matter when you take it. But take it as often as you can. Your scores go up and you can practice what you weren't great at. Also, find a good prep course (even if it's computer).
