I am not for France or Italy but i found the game very dirty. Cheap, and unprofessional. Neither F or I deserve the title...

France deserved to win more
But I hate that it went to Penalty shootout, a World Cup Final should have sudden-death overtime after no one wins in overtime. in sudden death first goal wins. dont you agree?

I'm Italian and I can answer you from my point of view: NO. I would have preferred the final to be Germany vs Italy -- a much more exciting game.
Victory is never sweet when it's tarnished by an accident like Zidane's headbutt. France and all their fans will present him as a victim, and Italy will end up like the culprits who didn't deserve to win.
So, it's not a sweet victory, but a well-deserved victory anyway. Italy didn't do anything unprofessional, the goal they scored during regulation time was a good one (not even a PK which is easier to score). France happened to have a better midfield, which largely depended on Zidane. But Italy's defense was better. I guess you don't like defensively minded teams or you just prefer to see more attack in a game. But that way of playing proved to be effective. Nobody could score against Italy apart from the own goal and today's PK. And if we talk of a *team* who should have deserved the title, then again it's Italy -- really worked as a team, 10 different players scored all throughout the tournament, helping each other and making a difference any time.

They deserved it plain and simple. WAY TO GO ITALY!
I'm Italian I wanted Italy to win of course, but I have no rivalry against France and would have still celebrated if they had won as I live in a french province.
But people need to get over it...the whole darn league play dirty, it has become part of the game, and in the end, WE WON..POINT FINAL!!

It was stupid. Who wins on a penalty? I am disappointed in both teams for playing so dirty, but I really wanted France to win.

yes. i'm a neutral fan too. i do respect and admire players from both teams.
true the game was riddled with dives from both sides, feigning of injuries...
wasn't a good game in my opinion. i don't think most of the fans deserves to watch this as the FINAL. (unless you're an italian fan of course, rejoicing now... congratulations.)
i think the 3rd/4th placing was a better match.
