Yes, they are.

KY is the abbreviation for the state of Kentucky, and NY is the abbreviation for the state of New York. The two of them are part of the 50 states that make up the United States of America. As such, they both use the same currency, the US Dollar. If you are looking for conversion rates, I have included a link to my favorite currency converter.

Please be aware that there are other countries that use the dollar as well, including Canada and Australia. US Dollars are usually noted as USD, while Canadian Dollars are noted as CAD, and Australian Dollars are noted as AUD.

I have also included a link to a site that has a map of the US so you can look at it and see where Kentucky and New York are in relation to one another. Each different colored area is a separate state, but it is all one nation. The two in the bottom left corner are the two states which are not attached to the rest of what we call the continental (meaning one continent) or the 48 states: Alaska and Hawaii.

I hope this clears it up for you.

You're not really serious, are you? KY is Kentucky and NY is New York...and yes, since the cival war, they are both in the same country and they both use the same currency...the all-mighty dollar! During the cival war though, they both used different currencies...KY used confederate dollars and NY used Federal dollars...
