I have 2 dogs, 13 rats and a hamster right now. If I got another pet, I would probably get mice :)

Dogs are an obvious choice, they are a lot of fun and great companions! You can take them for walks and spend time with them, and of course, throw the ball until your arm falls off. Lol.

Rats because they are very lovable and so much fun! You can watch their antics and never get bored. They give me kisses and love to sit on my shoulder. They seem like mini-dogs more then rodents to me.

Hamsters are nice small pets that are easy to care for. Their fun to hold and play with! I actually got a hamster because he was at the shelter for a few months and I felt bad for him. He's been awesome though, I don't regret getting him!

The reason I'd get mice is because they have a similar cuteness to rats, but are much smaller and I can give them lots of toys! They aren't as tame per say, but they are a lot of fun to watch and that would be really nice :) They also cost less then rats to house and feed which is a bonus, but nothing will replace dogs or rats in my life.

Just had to put my two cats to sleep - both almost twenty years old, really miss them!!! Want another cat but have had to move and would have to come up with pet deposit, not possible financially right now. Like dogs too, would get a small or toy breed, but live upstairs and dont want to go downstairs every time it needs to go...so cats in an apartment are easier in that respect. Except have to clean litter box. But love both, have had both.

When we were stationed at Fort Sill in Oklahoma I was 4 months pregnant with my son. I was cleaning up and doing my "nesting" thing when I noticed tons of little spiders along a corner on the wall... I killed them all but then noticed a web under one of the coffee tables. It was a small, skinny, black spider and I immediately noticed a little red mark underneath it's belly. It was a black widow... excited, (cause I've never seen one before) I told my husband. But he couldn't see the spot and insisted it wasn't a widow... The teeny spiders I had killed were her babies and so we decided to trap her in a glass jar and put holes on the lid. We put twigs, rocks, and some scrap threads to keep her comfortable... My husband would capture small bugs, beetles, ants, and roaches to feed her. She plumped up fast and we could then see her red hourglass clearly. She was so beautiful and I decided to name her "Benedict Arnold". It just sounded cute for a murderous spider... Anyway, she didn't have long to live because black widows are only supposed to live a few weeks after having babies. However, we took such good care of her that she lived for about 3-4 months, until my father in law shook her jar and crushed her with the rocks inside... He claims it was an accident but I still think Benedict Arnold was murdered... out of jealousy perhaps... I would love to have another black widow, but my son is still too young (20 months) to be responsible and careful around such a poisonous animal... Maybe when he's much older... we can adopt another one. I've had many pets as a kid: dogs, cats, birds, fish, mice, ants, mice, snakes, etc... But none were as awesome as Benedict Arnold!!!

I have a cat and fish. Cats help you relax and they are pretty clean animals as long as they are trained to use the kitty litter. Fish... well i just like fish and you dont have to worry about the fish destroying something or peeing in your carpet or training them. Its not alot of maintenance in my opinion to have fish. I used to have a dog but well somebody stole my dog.
