you shouldn't react at all. Did you know their is a fine if you ask or tell a woman to stop breast feeding in public?

If it offends you, then look away.

Breast-feeding doesn't bother me, but it does come down to common courtesy. I'm not saying that a woman should not breast-feed in public, but there are ways of doing it that would lessening the possibility of offending others. While adults do understand that it is a natural thing, but children will not understand, and since their parents have a heart-attack over them possibility seeing one on TV, they can be confused about why is it suddenly OK to see it now??? Also, the mothers that are doing the breast-feeding, will probably be some of the first to demand that someone should change their clothes because it is too revealing. I know it isn't the same thing, but like I said it comes down to common courtesy if the breast-feeding moms want the sensibilities of their children to be protected and their own personal standards to be observed by all around them, then they need to go that extra mile for someone that they may offend. I know that they might not feel like someone should be offended by it, but someone else might feel that they are over sensitive on other subjects.

Most of the time unless you are just sitting there staring at a woman you don't even notice what is going on. I have never seen a breastfeeding mom just whip out a breast and start to feed her child. Mostly they use a blanket or a cloth napkin or something to cover the child. As for feeding a child in the bathroom, no way! Breastfeeding is a natural thing. It doesn't bother me at all.

Doctors stress breastfeeding and women have done it for a looong time. Some women use special bibs to cover themselves when feeding in public. I've never seen one who openly does it for the world to see except in National Geographic magazines. Breastfeeding is natural and the baby has to eat, maybe its prejudices like yours that try to make it look like its wrong, when its not.

Sadly so, breasts seem to be more associated with sex and pleasure than their real function, which is for breastfeeding offspring. Maybe guys hate to be reminded of that.

Women usually use a blanket or the lower part of their shirt to cover everything the baby's head doesn't shield. If you are seeing women removing their clothing under the guise of breastfeeding, I would assume they have a social agenda beyond the infant's nutrition.
That said, if the only choices were breastfeed immodestly or use formula instead, I would back the breastfeeder all the way.

I can't stand it actually. I hate to be sitting at a table having lunch or dinner and some woman across the way flops out her boob in public. It's just not necessary. They should just stay home if their kid is that young and still needs to be breastfed.

I think it is OK, it's natural & the kid has to eat, BUT I think they should make some effort to cover up, with a shawl or blanket as some people may be offended.

I just smile. The baby doesn't have any concept of time yet. And I'm sure that its only in the mom's nature to respond to her infant's need for breastmilk, right? ;)
