That whole Rooney-C.Ronaldo crap went on for days after that game. How long will this last? ;-)
Instead of making speculations and bashing Italy, Portugal, England, or France (depending on who you root for) just be sad that the World Cup is over!!! Or happy if you didn't like it.

i hope it doesnt last too long! zidane has had a magnificent career and i hope one little red card at the end of it isnt going to blemish it forever! he deserves to be placed in the catagory of pele and maradona! long live the magnificent knight of france!

It's quite sickening to see people still defending Rooney. He clearing stepped on a man's genitals and if you are a man (I am not, but assuming) that is the lowest of the low. He deserved that red card and that's the end of it.
Now how can anyone defend Zidane. One, NO ONE even know what Materazzi said two, it was selfish, distasteful and downright stupid of him to do that he put his whole team in jeopardy and three, the penalty kick given to France 7 minutes into the match was over exaggerated and undeserved.
Clearly the better team won.

zidane was effectivly taken out of his game. The italian defender took him out and won the game for italy.
