I took my ten-year-old daughter fishing. We had to walk through some swampy areas. She didn't want to get wet so I carried her. I had to walk in water up to my knees carrying her the whole way. She dropped the worms while I was carrying her so we had no bait.
Still I got to be with her and laugh and have fun anyways. My daughter is the best thing that ever happened to me. I love her. She is the best.
My day was great!1

I was woken, rudely, at about 3am by a loud bang. Realised the power was off (no alarm lcd) and first thought was one of my cats had bitten into a powercord. So upstairs I went, groggily (i hate being woken up, specially on a monday morning) and found one cat alive and well - so where's the other one. With a horrible feeling in my stomach I searched for a bit... the other cat came patting up to me. Okay, phew. Heart rate slows a bit. Cats okay. But what killed the power? I then searched for the other house occupants, they're okay, I can hear em all snorin, brother okay, yep... sister and boyfriend okay... so not going in to check... can hear them... cant' see a fire anywhere. Whole neighbourhood without power.
Oh well, back to bed I go.
And of course overslept. Which I didn't mind, infact it'd taken me a while to get back to sleep... but my 'helpful' brother decided he'd better wake me up for work. Oh goodie.
So I haul my now very tired butt outa bed and walk to work - which isn't so bad, it's a nice day (and I'm an hour late).
I get to work to find the power outage had fried the system I was working on and it'd be a day before it was up n running.
So ... I could have stayed in bed.
And apart from the drinking of a lot of coffee and the surfing of a lot of web, not much else has happened. XD
Sorry that was so uninspiring and boring. Not much happens in the life of a geek that is world news worthy XD
Edit: We never did find out what happened to the power, but for it to go bang loud enough to wake me up (i sleep with earplugs in) was pretty drastic!

My day started out by gong to work at ten this morning and staying there until 8:30. I was to get off at 7:30 but the computers broke and seeing as i am the one with the greatest ablitiy with computers i had to saty and fix them. During the day I was told that there is a guy that works there that is getting paid more than me and i have been there longer and he ahd no experience at all. The reason for his higher wages was beacuse he is the bosses friend and that made me extremely mad. The day was good except for that beacuse i got to talk to my girlfriend who is Arizona and some lady bought me a coffee.

Thank you for asking. I had a perfect day. I am 50 years old and I am replacing a fence for a neighbor and all day I had people come by and tell me what a good job I was doing in the intense heat. I managed to get some of the kids wet in the neighborhood as they watched me make a walkway with concrete and stop to go to my house for Grape heads and water. I am single and the children in this neighborhood come by to get their skateboards tightened, a shower from the hose, or just to say hi. They range in age from 7-22. As i sit here with my face sunburned, muscles aching and throat still parched from my fantastic day of work I will tell you that it was one of the most rewarding ever. Working, interfacing with people, playing with children, talking to neighbors and exchanging smiles with passerby's for about 9 hours is perfect blessings for a sunday. Hopefully I will be able to recreate it another day. I certainly hope so. And thanks again for asking, how was your day?

I was starting a new garden plot in a community garden. I had been digging for hours and it was very hot. Two men with a dog walked by and we said hello to one another. They asked me about my garden, and I asked them about the paddles they were carrying.
They asked me if I wanted to go canoeing with them. Sure, I said. We're serious, they said. So am I, I said.
So we canoed across the Creek in the centre of our city. When we got to the beach on the other shore we got out. We went for ice cream. After we got our ice cream, about 150 people zoomed by on skateboards on the street (no joke, this was our city's first skater critical mass event). There was one skater holding onto a car. A policeman saw and said over his megaphone, "let go of the car" in that very authoritative police voice. Like he was saying, "put down the weapon." We laughed.

so does best story mean its got to be the longest? anyways, my day. it was great. i worked. i like my work. i like feeling like i'm making a difference. i work with people who are at the bottom of their lives, i help to pick them up and show them how worthwhile they are to be in this world. i show them respect and dignity. if you walk down any big city, there is a skid row. i work with those people. what else made it great. i talked to this guy on the phone i really like. we talked about in detail how each of us takes a shower. funny convo. my coworker was sitting in the background trying not to listen. it was on my lunch break. i know her from a long time ago. so she's down with it. oh ya. i bought myself a sewing machine after work. so i'm going to start back to my dress making. i guess it was longer then i expected. but was nice to actually write this down. i think alot. so i always go over my day, think about the highlights. i'll still be thinking about my convo with this guy for the rest of the night. but nice that someone wants to know. anyways, how was yours? you never said
