We bought a 7 day thermostat for our home to try and save some money on our electric bill. Haven't been able to get it to work properly. Any suggestions.?

Batteries are in right, we programmed it with the settings and installed it. Will not cycle, runs constantly. We removed it and replaced the old one until we can figure out what we did wrong.

It did come with a manual, we followed all the steps. Maybe it is defective?

I installed one. The package that it came in should have a guide to program it too. It sounds like it was not there. If it was mine, I might want to enter the name and model number as a google keyword and often you will find a user's manual for a product on line, placed there by the manufacturer. Or go back to the store you bought it from and find another package, ask if you can make a copy of the programming guide, and then keep it at home where you can always find it. I keep mine sitting 'on' the thermostat itself.

Call an air conditioning electrician. I had the same problem, blew a fuse and all.

Finally called electrician.

Main problem was the 2-stage heating on the heat pump. I guess I didn't have it hooked up properly.

Good Luck

More details please! Start with the basics. Make sure the batteries are installed properly and follow all directions - wiring and programming.
