I was 25 just back from Vietnam.
My wife and I watched it on our Black & White RCA television.
At that time it was the most watched event in human history.
Around the world, Walter Cronkite was reporting.

I too bear in mind it, i became purely short of 7YO, and that i presumed it became the most magnificent ingredient ever - set me on the route of astronomy analyze in later existence. and prefer Mez stated above, in Aus it became 21st July! I likewise went to the assembly hall, the position the completed college watched the only black and white television. television became presented in Aus in 1958, or maybe by technique of 1969 no longer a wide share of Aussies owned a television. those that did were given an afternoon without work college to bypass watch the shape. And for all those human beings right here who love asking issues about alien existence and so on, believe me before the Moon landings there heavily were those who concept the Moon became made up of cheese, and there became extremely a extreme element of expectation that there is existence got here upon on Mars. I received a eco-friendly glow-in-the-darkish Martian in a flying saucer for my birthday 2 weeks after the touchdown! (playstation the Grandfather of a teenager in my son's type in college "patched" Neil Armstrong's voice channel by potential of to NASA through the Honeysuckle Creek monitoring station, close to Canberra Aus. - how's that for a declare to repute?)

I remember it but we had very bad TV reception in Viet Nam so I didn't get to see it. I do remember getting up in the middle of the night to watch Alan Shepard do his sup-orbital flight. I followed the early space launches very closely. I was a really interested and excited to see that new frontier being explored. I still love to see a launch. Just something very emotional about the whole thing for me.

July 20, 1969. I was four years old. Sitting in front of the black and white television...cross-legged on the rug with my plaid skirt and white knee socks and black mary-jane shoes. I remember asking questions, but my parents couldn't answer any of them. I remember holding my breath when Neil Armstrong came down that ladder...I nearly passed out. Later that night, I cried because it was cloudy and I couldn't see the moon in the sky. I wanted to try to see the astronauts. I had my Dad's binoculars...I just knew I could see them.

9 years before my time. Wish I would have been there, I'm a big fan of early space exploration, would have been awesome.
