If you really did format the drive, then the password would have been wiped out. The password is not stored on the motherboard.

Try using the offiline password reset program found here: http://home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpasswd/bootdisk.html

Note: accessing a computer or network without permission is a federal crime.

Depends on when it is asking for the password? If the password is asked even before you get into the operating system, it must be a BIOS password. In that case, there is a jumper on the motherboard which you must either remove (you can replace it once you have started the system, logged in, then shut down) or take it out and attach it to one pin (shorting). You should be able to see the letters PSWD next to the jumper. Always unplug the power cord and wait for the mother board light to go out before you do anything.

It depends on which password u are talking about....is it the windows logon password or is it the bios password.

If its the windows password try to tap the F8 key when your comp starts up and go to safe mode...then u will have a administrator logon user...use that to login to your windows.

If its the bios...then u will have to open the cpu and reset the jumper.

depending which windows you are running:

Try booting in safe mode.... keep pressing F8 on startup

Format not once but twice, this ensures temp memory is also erased.

take it to a computer place
