Is anyone excited for the Ender's Game movie? Personally I think it will be quite hard to adapt the movie to the book's physics but nonetheless I am still excited to see the producers try.

I think it helps that they're going to do Ender's Shadow and Ender's Game together; Ender's Shadow had more actual action that will help the movie along, whereas to understand Ender's Game you really need to know what's going on inside Ender's head. I was a bit worried when I first heard they were doing it, but with the control Card's taking over making sure the script is right, I really think he won't let them do it unless they come up with a way to do it well.

I'm very excited that they're making it into a movie. I know no one could ever do justice to the books, but it will be cool to see how some of the scenes are visually represented.

It will be interesting to see how they choose to end the movie too. Will they leave the movie with everyone happy and cheering that the war is over??? Or will they pull in the conclusion with Ender writing those books and regretting the role he was forced to play....

Regardless of whether Ender is old or young...he was always soulful and pensive.

What they're making a great sci-fi book into a modern Hollywood money maker? That will be the problem. They'll throw loads and loads of special effects and completely miss the coolness factor regarding anything in the book. Instead of appealing to the fans of the book, they'll try to appeal to a "broader audience" who will have no clue what half the stuff in the book meant had they read it, so they'll have to dumb it waaaay down.
Look at what a flop Starship Troopers was. The only thing the movie and Heinlein's book had in common was the title. It veered away from the book at the end of the opening credits.

Hmmmm. I wonder which version of Ender they will use. The one where is a cool, right wing killing machine or when he turns into a pathetic new age pussy in the later books. I hope they use the cool Ender but I won't hold by breath.

I'm with you, I wonder how they're going to do all of that, and how close it will be to what I imagined it in my mind...

I can't wait for it!!
