Please read your letter of appointment. In your letter of appointment, there should indicate a minimum time frame that you should notify the company in the event that you want to resign.

If you have a better offer elsewhere, do be frank with your boss. if possible leave the company on happy note.

All the best to you in your new career

I'm sure there is some type of clause in the contract that will allow either of you to terminate the contract. If not you may have to tough it out another year, or quit and deal with the consequences.

Most contracts nowadays stipulate a notice period which both the employer and employee are to give to each other should one party wish to terminate the contract.

Look at your contractual terms. Are you required to give a 1-month or 2-month notice for resignation? Give your boss the requisite notice, and off you go!

Alternatively, give immediate notice and pay salary in lieu of the required notice period.

Don't tell him that you want to quit, but start discussing about the scope of your career and ask him what help he can provide to find a better opportunity than the existing one for you. While getting his views, whenever any occasion arises, or he suggests for searching any other opportunity, just ask him about his views, as to how he can help you if you come across any such better opportunity?

The other method is to start visiting his house and get favours from his wife, so that she can help you to get relieved from the job when you get any such opportunity.

you will need a good reason- you don't want to end up snarled in a breach of contract lawsuit. maybe ask to be let go.
