Basically what I need is some of the best resturants and why you like them?? (seafood ones would be helpful also) And places to go for entertainment while your there?

If you are going to be in the Heart of the Redwoods (i.e. Big Basin State Park), there is a great old Italian restraunt on Hwy 236 on the way to the park called Scoppazzi's. Santa Cruz is 12 miles away and it has some of the BEST seafood restraunts around, too many to name, but the fish around that town is always fresh. Pick up a Good Times mag while you're there and it has a restraunt guide in the back. Crows Nest looks out over the bay and Boardwalk. Fine dining and you can be casual.

I'd recommend The Cove Restaurant in Shelter Cove. It's a bit off the beaten path from Hwy 101, but the drive is very scenic:

If you like Japanese food, you can try Cafe Tomo in Arcata.
As for nightlife, your best bet is probably in Eureka or Arcata, although there are interesting concerts, festivals, etc., in Southern Humboldt occasionally.
When you head up the Avenue of the Giants, be sure to stop in at "A Taste of Humboldt" (winery/vineyard/gift shop) in Myers Flat & say hello to the friendly folks who work there.

The Yankee Peir! I live in the redwoods! Come to Marin County. THe restaraunt is in Larkspur.
